Living the Sefirot: An Omer Journey
Eight part course with Rabbi Ruth Gan Kagan on our embodied journey through the Omer period.
What is this course?
Rabbi Ruth writes: You're warmly invited to journey with me through the Omer period, between Pesach and Shavuot, in a living, experiential exploration of the Sefirot (Divine - and also human - qualities). Over eight weeks (we begin one week in advance!) we will dwell on the Sefira of each week, not only as an abstract mystical idea, but as a quality that can be felt, practiced, and integrated into daily life. This course invites a way of learning that is embodied, reflective, and deep. We will meet the Sefirot as inner landscapes that shape our lives and relationships, our prayer and our presence in the world. Each session brings together text, teaching, contemplative practice, and song, creating space for the wisdom of the tradition to encounter our real questions and lived experience. The Omer is a time that offers communal support for gradual transformation, a sacred counting that honors process rather than arrival. Together, we will create a learning community that chooses to make these weeks count. This is an invitation to growth that is honest and compassionate, grounded in the Neo-Hasidic path, devoted to seeking personal meaning. No prior knowledge is required. Only curiosity, openness, and a willingness to walk this path with others. HOW DOES IT WORK? The course consists of eight live online sessions, of 75 minutes each. Each class is recorded as well, and is sent out to all registrants following each class, so that you can watch the recordings at your own convenience. There will also be an optional WhatsApp group to allow for connection and sharing among our community between sessions. Each session includes a printable translated handout of teachings. In the live, interactive online class, Rabbi Ruth will guide us through the texts and offer guided practices based on the topic of focus. DATES AND TIMES Sundays, March 29 - May 17 at 9am Pacific / 12pm Eastern / 5pm UK / 7pm Israel and the relevant hours in other time zones, for 75 minutes each time. The cost of the course is $280. For subsidized rates on a sliding scale, please contact Rabbi Daniel.
