At Pesach, we may be blessed to experience some form of liberation.
But what then?
During the seven weeks between Pesach and Shavuot, called the Omer, the Torah asks us to mark our gradual growth in awareness by counting each day and each week.
If we really make each of these days count, on Shavuot we ourselves may experience standing at Sinai and receiving the revelation appropriate for us at this point in our lives.
In this course, we will learn, discuss, practice and share together as we journey through these seven weeks, which our mystics relate to the seven lower Divine Sefirot (emanations or qualities), and also our core emotions.
Session 1 of the course explores the Sefirot in general, and the specific opportunities for growth, healing and integration offered by the journey from Pesach, through the Omer to Shavuot.
Sessions 2 - 8 each focus on the Sefirah (quality or emotion) of the coming week of the Omer, starting with Chesed (Loving-Oneness) and concluding with Malchut (Sovereignty / Integration).
Each session includes text study, discussion and guided meditative exercises.
All texts are provided with clear line-by-line translations, and no prior knowledge or experience with the subject matter is necessary. This course is open to novices and advanced learners of all backgrounds and levels.
How does it work?
This course is an 8-class journey.
The classes are recorded and participants can watch to the recordings of the classes at any time they like.
Each class includes:
1) A printable handout of Jewish textual sources, provided in full translation with introductory comments and guiding questions.
2) A recorded class, in which Rabbi Daniel provides background information, explanation, close reading, critical analysis and practical ideas for applying the teachings in our day-to-day lives.
3) Prompts for silent reflection, creative writing, drawing, or whichever other practices are helpful for you, to explore meaningful questions about the above-mentioned themes.
Registrants gain lifetime access to all the course materials.
