What is this course?

You're warmly invited to try the first session of this course as a free trial. Throughout the Jewish world today, few spiritual legacies resonate as broadly and deeply as that of Rebbe Nachman of Breslov (1772 - 1810). He is well-known for his powerful sayings that have touched and uplifted countless souls, some of which have become famous songs, for example: "The whole world is a very narrow bridge..." "If you believe you can damage, then believe that you can repair." Rebbe Nachman was the great-grandson of the Ba'al Shem Tov, who founded the Chasidic spiritual revolution. Rebbe Nachman not only continued the path of his ancestor; he blazed his own path that was uniquely creative, innovative and psychologically rich. In this course, we will study and discuss some of Rebbe Nachman's most insightful and poetically beautiful teachings, and experience meditative practices designed to help us embody and integrate their wisdom into our daily lives. Themes we will explore together include: The centrality of our body in our spiritual practice; The oscillating path of Teshuvah (returning to our highest selves); How our thoughts and consciousness affect reality; Our unique mission in the world each day; Cultivating joy despite challenges; Music as a spiritual tool; The practice of praying in our own words (Hitbodedut); And maintaining growth, resilience and equanimity throughout the challenges of life. This course is open to participants of all backgrounds and levels of experience. No prior Jewish learning is required, and all texts will be provided in Hebrew with English translation. HOW DOES IT WORK? The course consists of eight live online sessions, of 75 minutes each. Each class is recorded as well, and is sent out to all registrants following each class, so that you can watch the recordings at your own convenience. There will also be an optional WhatsApp group to allow for connection and sharing among our community between sessions. Each session includes a printable translated handout of teachings. In the live, interactive online class, R' Daniel will guide us through the texts and offer guided practices based on the topic of focus. WHEN IS IT? Monday, March 9 at 10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern / 5pm UK / 7pm Israel and the relevant hours in other time zones, for 75 minutes. This is the option to try the first session of this course as a free trial.
