Tikun Olam — Healing our Shattered World — is the deepest dream at the core of our hearts: to heal suffering, mend division, and help humanity remember its essential truth. In this live online course, we will explore the spiritual, emotional, and communal journey from destruction toward renewal. The Three Weeks of Jewish mourning commemorate the destruction of the Beit HaMikdash/Temple and generations of exile, loss, and suffering. The Beit HaMikdash — “the home through which all the world is sanctified” — represents not only a historical reality, but also the ongoing human experience of loneliness, fear, grief, and disconnection. Yet Jewish spiritual tradition teaches that from the place of greatest shattering, healing and redemption can emerge. This course is an opportunity to consciously engage in that rebuilding — Tikun Olam — within ourselves, our relationships, our communities, and the world, rising from personal heartbreak and collective fracture in order to build the world of our dreams. Drawing from Torah, Chassidut, aggadah, Jewish mysticism, and lived human experience, we will deeply explore the meaning of Tikun Olam — a phrase often invoked, yet rarely examined in depth. What does it truly mean to “fix the world”? Does healing come from reaching outward, or turning inward? When must we actively build and when is the time to pause, grieve, listen, and allow something new to emerge? Do we repair the world by gathering broken pieces, or by rediscovering the wholeness that still exists beneath the fracture? Alongside learning, participants will engage in guided meditation, creative writing, artistic reflection, and personal prayer to cultivate compassion, resilience, and inner clarity while embodying healing in practice. All texts will be provided in Hebrew and English translation. Open to learners of all backgrounds and orientations. How does it work? Each of the six sessions include: Diving deep into Torah text and tradition. Guided practices and reflective exercises designed to internalize the teachings and connect them to our personal and communal journeys. Open space for questions, discussion, and sharing, allowing the group itself to facilitate a process of collective healing. When is it? Sunday, June 28 11am PST • 2pm EST • 7pm UK time, and other relevant times in your times zones. Click below to register for this free trial of the first session.
